A Message to the GamerLoop Network Community

We would like to thank you…

Friday, May 15th, 2020 marked our first, official Charity Event with StackUPa military charity supporting active and veteran service members from the US and allied nations by promoting positive mental health and combating veteran suicide through gaming and geek culture.

Over the course of Sage’s 8-hour stream, our goal was to raise $500 in support of StackUP’s amazing cause. Within the first 30 minutes, we crushed that goal so we doubled it. In 57-minutes, we achieved our $1,000 goal.

But it didn’t stop there – Over the following 7 hours, we increased our goal 3 more times with a final goal of $5,500 which again was met and beaten for a total of $6,002. To put this into scope, each $1,000 secured a video game care package full of the latest games and consoles to be sent to deployed units and veterans in need.

As someone who was incalculably affected by a Vietnam Veteran and Marine, this event deeply connected with me. If not for the support, loving friendship, and father figure that Mike became to me, I would not be the person I am today; the person who is surrounded by this incredible community that supports, not only in word but in action. You stood beside us, our active-service members, and our Veterans to make a difference. But that’s not all.

I was overjoyed to see both active-service members and Veterans come forward to share their stories, their appreciation, and what StackUP means to them. It was an emotionally charged event in which I was often overcome with tears. Hearing your stories and hearing your feelings further solidified the importance of what StackUP does every day, not only for me but also for those cheering us on. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to those active-service members and Veterans once again, not only for what you shared but for your service and sacrifice – Thank you.

The GamerLoop Network community’s dedication to this cause is also marked by yet another amazing achievement. For 2020, at the time of this event, we took over the #1 position on StackUP’s leaderboard as Top Fundraiser! It is our hope and expectation that we won’t occupy that position long and that it further inspires Fundraisers to meet and exceed their goals in support of our active service members and Veterans.

On behalf of the GLN Leadership Team, we would also like to personally thank the StackUP Team Members who supported this event. Tatoress has been my point of contact since the beginning, quick to answer questions and to offer support in any way possible. She was further invaluable during the event stream, cheering on each donor and sharing information about what StackUP does every single day. We also had the pleasure of meeting another member of the StackUP Team – Deity7. He joined us LIVE on stream to discuss his personal connection with the organization and why he is profoundly connected to their cause. His insight and personal experience were met with tremendous joy and gratitude from our community. Deity7, we thank you for your openness and willingness to share.

In conclusion, this was our community’s very first Charity Event and what an event it was! The tearful joy we shared in making a difference for not only our active-service members and Veterans but also fellow gamers was outstanding. This highlighted what we have here together is different, why it should be nurtured, protected, and loved. On behalf of all of us at GamerLoop Network, we thank you for your sacrifice during these troubled times and offer up our assurance that those receiving the benefits of your kindness also thank you.
